Panel Discussion on Changing Roles of Women
IQ City United World School of Business organised an insightful Panel Discussion on the 'Changing Roles of Women' on the eve of International Women's Day 2024.
Panelist Dr. Nandini Bhowmik, an Indologist, Sanskrit scholar and priest, is the epitome of the changing woman. She personifies a 'living tradition' by conducting marriages, Durga puja and many other religious ceremonies in a gender-inclusive manner. She inspired the female students of IQ City UWSB to assert their rights and the males to be supportive.
Panelist Ms. Chandrani Bhattacharya, Advocate with Calcutta High Court, elucidated the protection that the Indian legal system provides against domestic abuse, sexual harassment at work and human trafficking. Both panelists emphasised that society needs to be sensitive about gender equality for a more inclusive and equitable future.
The discussion was moderated by senior faculty, Prof Sahana Ghosh. She led a thought-provoking panel discussion, celebrating the global achievements of women on International Women's Day.
