The MBA Induction Programme at IQ City United World School of Business (IQ City UWSB) Kolkata began with the ceremonial watering of a sapling and a soulful mantra gaan ‘sangachhadhwam sanbadadhwam’. Our distinguished guest speakers, Mr. Sugato Banerji, Director – Knexup, Ms. Debosmita Basu (Ray), General Manager – Human Resources, Eveready Industries India Ltd, and Mr. Sparsh Ganeriwala, Associate Director-Expat US Tax, shared their pearls of wisdom. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including the importance of integrity and effective communication, as well as Artificial Intelligence, networking, sustainability, leadership skills, importance of discipline and the like.
Prof. (Dr.) Meenakshi Khemka, Principal, IQ City UWSB interacted with the students while underscoring the importance of hard work and getting relevant work experience in the initial years of one’s corporate journey. “We look at you as future managers, we don’t want to look at you as students, you have to come out of your student mode”, She added. She also discussed nurturing relevant skills, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence, decision making, sustainability, extracurricular activities, ethical working etc.
The dynamic duo, Co-owners of Bunaphile Cafe, our beloved alumni Sonika Dey and Paromik Das from Batch 2012-2014 interacted with the new batch. They talked about their personal and professional growth at IQ City UWSB, corporate life experiences, the ups & downs of their entrepreneurial journey, the nitty-gritty of handling multiple roles as business owners and much more.
The programme concluded with faculty introductions and an engaging ice-breaking session.
The Induction Programme will continue for a week and will include many more fun interactions and engaging activities.
