This year’s Independence Day function, was one of those days the campus will remember for a while. Energy was palpable from the first performance on stage — students had clearly practiced for days, and it showed in their singing, recitations, a few speeches that came straight from the heart, and even a fashion show the audience kept cheering for. It wasn’t just the performances that stood out, but how much of the campus got involved, from juniors to seniors, teachers and everyone else who pitched in to make the day happen. When the programme came to a close, there was a genuine feeling that something had been achieved, not just another event ticked off the calendar. It was a fitting end to a wonderful day — everyone stood for the National Anthem, voices united in that one moment of pride no rehearsal could ever prepare you for. Vande Mataram!
