The 14th Convocation IQ City of United World School of Business was held on 12th December 2024. As in every year, the Convocation was a glittering yet solemn event in which the graduating students were awarded their Certificates and the toppers their medals as well.
Principal Dr. Meenakshi Khemka declared the Convocation open with an inspiring speech addressed to the young men and women who are at the threshold of their career. She emphasized on the four A’s – Accomplishment, Accountability, Attitude and Authenticity. She urged them to be honest and true to themselves even when they faced challenging situations in their careers.
Among the guests of Honour, Mr. Gautam Dutta, Channel Head of ABP Ananda Television, reminded the students that they would be facing immense challenges in their careers, especially through Artificial Intelligence. He told them to pursue careers that they are passionate about. Only if they loved what they did, they would be able to rise, Mr. Dutta said. He also encouraged them to be assertive and develop their communication skills.
Ms Sampa Bhowmick, Human Resource Head of MCPI, formerly Mitsubishi Chemicals was the next Guest of Honour. Ms. Bhowmick said that learning should be never ending, especially as the life cycle of talent is shortening around the world. It would not be difficult for the graduating students to be resilient against challenges if they are well-equipped with evolving areas of knowledge.
Mr. Rahul Jain, CEO of the Africa business of Hemraj Group, inspired the graduating students by narrating his experience of transitioning from a management trainee to being the CFO of a multinational company in 6 years. He said that vision, trust, teamwork and values are keys to success in life.
The Convocation was an opportunity for the graduating students to meet up with their batch mates and say farewell to their respected faculty. We wish all the best to their future endeavours.
