IQ City United World School of Business, Kolkata conducted the 12th Convocation ceremony at the CII Suresh Neotia Centre for Excellence on 16th December 2022.
The Convocation was declared open by Principal Prof Meenakshi Khemka. She urged the outgoing students to always keep in mind the three D’s of Success – Discipline, Dedication and Determination. IQ City UWSB has tried to instil these traits into the students throughout the two years they studied here. Prof Khemka reminded the audience that this batch of students were hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic but was ensured that they did not face any academic loss.
The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Supriyo Sinha, Executive Director of the Peerless Group, which has interests in hospitality, healthcare and financial services. He gave a very motivating talk emphasizing that one needs to fail in life to achieve success. As an example, he said that the lion, which is considered the strongest predator, is actually successful in catching a deer only once in ten times. Mr. Sinha also urged the outgoing students not to get overwhelmed by success and to remain grounded.
Mr. Rajiv Ghosh, CEO of Selvel Group, which is into outdoor advertising, was the next speaker. Mr. Ghosh wished the graduating students to cherish the most important day when they were making the transition from being a student to being a professional.
Ms. Priya Banerjee, part of the global office of General Counsel, has been with PriceWaterhouse Coopers for 14 years. An expert in legal issues and data management, Ms. Banerjee gave insights into how to become a successful woman manager by accepting the ups and downs of life.
Prof. Amitava Ghosh, Dean of IQ City United World School of Business, Kolkata, told students to adapt to the fast-changing world. Prof. Ghosh gave the Vote of Thanks.
